CIV Mugello: the results of the free practices

 

The free practices of the seasonal final round of the Campionato Italiano Velocità took place today at the Tuscan track of Mugello.

STOCK 1000: TUSCANY TOOK CONTROL – The surprise of the day in the Stock 1000 was the 29 year old Lorenzo Alfonsi, who clinched the best time of 1’55”710 on board the BMW of the Kuja Racing Team. “I’m seeking the victory to conclude in a great way a season which started with uncertain results and ended with a climax – stated Lorenzo – winning would be a significant result to me and in prospect of 2011, so that’s why I’d like to stay in the front in this race”. Behind him there were respectively Championship leader Goi (Aprilia), Dell’Omo (Suzuki) and the wild – card Antonelli (Honda).      

THE OTHERS – The fastest lap in the Stock 600 belonged to Lorenzo Zanetti (Yamaha – TNT Racing), who overcame Marcheluzzo (Honda), Vitali (Yamaha) and Russo (Yamaha) through the time of 1’59”485. The best time of the Supersport was set by Roberto Tamburini (Yamaha – Bike Service R.T.), who prevailed on standings leader Vizziello (Honda), Dionisi (Honda) and Lamborghini (Yamaha) thanks to the time of 1’54”852. After a long period spent far from races due to an accident, Luigi Morciano (Aprilia – JuniorGP Racing Dream) was back at the lead of the 125 Gp with the time of 2’02”241, followed by Tonucci, Antonelli and leader Popov. All the previous riders challenge on an Aprilia machinery. Stefano Cruciani ruled the Superbike free practices on board the Ducati of the Barni Racing Team and its time of 1’53”153 allowed him to leave behind Sandi (Aprilia), the Italian Champion Polita and Conforti (Ducati).   

RAPID INSIDE IS ABOUT TO REVEAL THE RI211 – The Moto2 RI2 machinery created by the Rapid Inside manufactured will be revealed tomorrow at 3:00pm in the Press Room.

THE APPOINTMENTS IN THE PADDOCK – There are a lot of appointments scheduled for tomorrow afternoon and hosted in the Mugello paddock: from 6:00pm there will be the autograph session with the riders, many gadgets will be given out to the crowd and after it there will be the pole positions prize giving.

THE ENGINES CIVilization – The painting by Letizia Galvioli will be put up for auction and the money raised will be donated to the “Habitatautismo” Association based in Rome. Tomorrow the painting will be showed in the Fun Area.

THE MOTONLINE AWARD – Due Ruote/Motonline will prize the rider author of the fastest lap in the Stock 600 challenge. Furthermore, there will be their gazebo in the paddock of the Tuscan circuit where free copies of the Due Ruote and XOffroad magazines will be given out.

LIVE TV BROADCAST – The tv broadcast connected with the gran finale will be exclusive: instead of Sportitalia 2, Sportitalia 1 (ch 225 Sky and digital terrestrial television) will live broadcast the challenges of the first three classes disputing the CIV final round. The live broadcast will start at 1:00pm with the Superbike, followed by the 125 Gp and the 600SS; race commentary by Luca Sordi. The Stock 600 and Stock 1000 challenges will be screened by Nuvolari (ch 218 Sky); race commentary by Fiammetta La Guidara.   

RADIO BLU TOSCANA AT THE CIV – Radio Blu Toscana will be the official radio station of the Mugello round, which launched a funny contest for its audience and free Sunday’s tickets will be up for auction as well as a track lap on the two-seater Yamaha.

THE OFFICIAL WEB SITE – As usual, the Tuscan round will be followed in real time by the official web site, www.civ.tv, which contains results, standings, news, analysis and interviews at the protagonists.

SCHEDULE TIMETABLES AND TICKETS – The qualifying sessions will took place tomorrow at 9:00am, whilst the races will get underway on Sunday at 1:00pm. Saturday’s fee entrance will be 5€ (free entrance for children under 14), while Sunday’s ticket will cost 20€ (reduced ticket to 15€ for women, people under 18, FMI card holders, free entrance for children under 14).
